I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God. Deuteronomy 32:3
Back in 2012, I ended up having an emergency CT scan after passing out while pregnant with my 3rd child. Though they didn't find anything abnormal in my brain and chest, they did find 2 nodules on my right thyroid gland.
My doctor decided it would be wise to have an ultrasound done as a precaution. The ultrasound showed that though they had grown slightly since the CT scan, they were not calcified and decided to keep an eye on them.
2 years later, the doctor decided to do another ultrasound. They had noticed that the lower right nodule had become solid and doubled in size. That was when the doctor decided to do a biopsy on the nodule to see if it was malignant.
The biopsy was done by fine needle aspiration and aside from some soreness at the site of entry the procedure was relatively painless. After the procedure, the doctor informed me that the biopsy was precautionary because I was a high risk for thyroid cancer due to sex, age, and family medical history. The results would take 1 week to come in...
I lift up my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip-He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you-the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from harm-He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121
This morning I received a call from the VA clinic saying the results came back from the biopsy and as the nurse so eloquently put it..."NO CANCER"
I am truly grateful for this experience. It has reminded me of the fragility of life and how quickly it flies by. All honor and glory goes to the Most High!
Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered- how fleeting my life is.You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath. Psalm 39:4-5
