I'm a big fan of using printable resources in our homeschool curriculum. The problem is, there are so many options out there that it can become overwhelming. Wouldn't it be nice to access printables for any subject that you need and do it from ONE place? HelpTeaching.com might just be that place. I've had the opportunity to review Help Teaching Pro and their list of printable resources is insane!
Help Teaching Pro is a one-year online membership subscription to HelpTeaching.com. You get access to all of their custom and pre-made K-12 resources...A "smorgasbord", if you will, to meet a plethora of printable needs.
While they do have their printables listed by topics like English, math, science, etc, I find it easier to search by grade level. From there, you can find the printables for that grade broken down by subject. It keep you from having to sift through printable looking for the appropriate grade level.
I accessed their Early Learning (Pre-K) and 2nd Grade printable resources. You can also access online videos. My 5-year-old watched some of the read-aloud videos from the literature lessons. She enjoyed watching familiar stories like The Gingerbread Man and 5 Little Duck.
When it comes to writing, she's able to copy words that she sees. So I printed out this cute Spring Words Mini-Book. She was able to use picture association to identify the words she was writing.
I'm really loving all of the early learning printable options. They have a nice selection of mini-books (which I have just a small obsession with) and they cover all the basic subjects you'd use to prepare your early learner for Kindergarten. The subject options are basic colors and shapes, learning numbers 1-10, thinking skills and science concepts, fine motor skills, alphabet letters and sounds with animals, coloring pages, mini-books, and more.
One of my favorite features of HelpTeaching.com is the worksheet generator. I've used this primarily with my 2nd grader to generate worksheets for multiplication practice. What I love about this feature is that it allows you to customize your worksheets instead of using one that's pre-made.
For the multiplication practice, you get to choose how many problems are on the worksheet and the minimum and maximum range for the 1st and 2nd factor. My daughter is currently working on multiples up to 9. So, I just changed the max factor from 12 to 9 and it generated a worksheet within those parameters.
There are lots of other features that I haven't even delved into yet. One of those features is the test maker. You can customize your test questions all the way down to the font. I don't give tests very often but it looks like a useful feature to have and could potentially help in prepping for state testing.
Speaking of state testing, you can also find worksheets that are aligned with common core. This is especially useful for us because we use a Christian curriculum that doesn't fully cover California common core standards. Also, we're not allowed to turn in faith-affiliated worksheets as work samples. This allows us to print out approved worksheets and turn them in without any issues.
