Our family is, what some might call, Bible collectors. We have several Bibles in different translations and even different languages. So, we were super excited to review BibleForce: The First Heroes Bible. A comic-book style Bible?...Uh...Yes, please!
And yes you read that right! BibleForce: The First Heroes Bible is, in fact, a comic-book style Bible. Now, I should clarify that while this Bible does follow scripture, it's not in something you'd use for family Bible study. I'd probably describe it more as a Bible storybook because you can't necessarily reference scripture. It literally reads like a storybook.
One of the reasons I love this story Bible so much is because it teaches kids familiar stories from the Bible. But it does so in a fun and engaging way. It's a great option for visual learners. My daughter is very much a visual learner and has an incredibly photographic memory. She loves this Bible and has had a much easier time recalling and reiterating stories from the Bible since we've been using it!
Originally when I had opted to review this Bible, I had my son in mind and wanted to get it for him. But my girls actually enjoy it as well. I'd even venture to say more than their brother does! Not that I can blame them. It really is cool!
So, essentially it covers the major events of the Bible and does so in a comic book format. I love the illustrations and the fact that there are pictures with each caption. They are colorful, vivid, and are very "comic book-y" in nature. I think even for an avid comic book collector, this story Bible will not disappoint.
Here they're covering the creation of Adam. I love that my kids are able to better connect with scriptural figures and biblical events. Having that visual element has really helped when it comes to their memorization of key details and timelines.
My kid's are really enjoying BibleForce: The First Heroes Bible! My husband and I enjoy reading it to the kids and I've even found myself reading it...like alone without the kids...if that says anything lol.
Even though, as I mentioned before, it's not a "study bible" bible, it's a fun and highly effective way to engage kids with scriptural events and people. I can honestly say I don't have anything negative to say about it. It's a family-friendly buy and great for boys, girls, kids, and adults alike. We love it and it gets a solid 5 stars from us!
Until next time, Be encouraged!
