For the past several weeks, we've been using this Books of the Bible At-a-Glance from Teach Sunday School. I'm a sucker for Bible study resources...anything that helps me (or my family) to better comprehend and absorb the word is a yes for me! Today I'm going to share a little about what it is and how we assembled and use ours in our study time.
So, this particular resource is printable and it gives a detailed one-page "at-a-glance" view of all 66 books of the Bible. This comes in extra handy for those who don't have a detailed book intro in their Bible (like my kiddos!) You can find lots of useful information packed into one little sheet.
Here's the book "deets" you'll find on each page:
I was so super grateful that this printable pack came with a cover and a table of contents. Weird, I know, but when I'm printing out a large document like this, I want it to be neat and organized!
I knew right away that this was going to be a resource I was going to want to use regularly. And with 5 kids to go through, I needed a little reinforcement. In comes my laminator to the rescue! I heart my laminator...look at how clean and put together this came out.
What I did is I printed 2 pages per 1 page. I used cardstock for extra durability and I did this front and back. Not only did it save me paper but it saved on ink as well. After the sheets were printed out, I laminated each one (like 16 or 17 pages) and then I used my rotary blade to cut each page down the center.
For the binding method, I decided to go disc-bound. I had some Happy Planner discs lying around and I had recently purchased the Happy Planner hole punch...perfect!
I'm really pleased with the way it came together. The pages are nice and strong and I can fold the pages back with ease. I also like that I can easily remove and replace pages whenever I need to. As an added bonus, I don't have to worry about the kids spilling anything on it or trying to color on it with markers <---true story.
Overall, the Books of the Bible At-a-Glance has been a really neat resource to have around. I knew we would use it but I didn't anticipate referencing it as much as we do. As I mentioned, my kids' Bible don't have Book intros so this has come in extra handy. While laminating and binding isn't necessary, I definitely recommend it if you plan to use it over a long period of time!
